IGP Namuhoranye rallies RNP athletes to victory and discipline ahead of EAPCCO games in Ethiopia

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), CG Felix Namuhoranye, today held a briefing session with athletes representing the Rwanda National Police ahead of the upcoming EAPCCO Games, set for April 28 in Ethiopia.

Addressing the athletes, IGP Namuhoranye reminded them that they carry not just the hopes of victory for Rwanda National Police, but also the pride of an entire nation. He urged them to demonstrate discipline, excellence, and a competitive spirit throughout the games.

"You may be few in number, but the responsibility on your shoulders is immense. You represent not only the Rwanda National Police but Rwanda as a whole. Rwandan values and discipline are respected across the globe, behave accordingly. We’ve achieved great things and we must remain consistent,” he said.

The RNP teams are set to compete in multiple disciplines, including handball, taekwondo, and shooting—events in which the institution has steadily built a formidable reputation.

At the previous edition of the EAPCCO Games, hosted in Rwanda in 2023, the home teams registered good performances, collecting a number of trophies and medals.

Wishing the teams a safe journey and a victorious campaign, the IGP called on the athletes to sustain their winning mentality and uphold the high standards that define Rwandan sportsmanship.
