On his third day of the official visit in south sudan, this Tuesday, IGP Dan Munyuza paid a courtesy call to his counterpart Gen Majak Acek of South Sudan.
The Police Chiefs discussed how to enhance Police-Police cooperation especially in the areas of crime prevention, information sharing, exchange of training and capacity building programmes, sharing expertise and best practice in various fields.
This is all in line with the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed between the two Police forces in 2011 to formalise cooperation and partnership.
A number of South Sudan Police officers have since had training in varied fields of policing in Rwanda, including Senior Command and Staff courses.
As the saying goes, the world has now become a global village, contemporary organized crimes have become the order of the day.
It is thus evident that Police forces can not perform effectively in isolation - without formidable partnerships with their counterparts in law enforcement.
While in South Sudan's capital Juba, IGP Dan Munyuza also attended the Martyrs’ day celebration.
The high level event was presided over by HE the President of the Republic of South Sudan, senior government and foreign dignitaries.
The national event was characterised by military parade, recognition and awarding of Medals and ribbons to the martyrs.
