Local leaders and residents of Huye district joined Police in the area, yesterday, to create more pedestrian crosswalk commonly known as Zebra crossings.
The pedestrian crossings were established on highway-hotspots in Ngoma sector to further improve road safety.
The exercise was also joined by public vehicle drivers and commercial motorcycle operators.
The district mayor, Eugene Muzuka said as Rwanda celebrates the 20th liberation anniversary, Rwandans have to continue striving for safety including on roads and hygiene
Chief Superintendent Tom Murangira, District Police Commander appealed to road users especially motorcyclists and drivers to respect such road signs to avoid likely accidents and loss of lives.
He also urged pedestrians to look on both sides of the road before crossing and use designated cross-ways.
