Handball League: Police beat St. Aloys to maintain lead

Police Handball club beat Groupe Scolaire St. Aloys 42-28, on Saturday to continue to chase their sixth championship trophy.

Man of the Match Gaston Kanyandekwe scored 10 goals, Norbert Tuyisenge netted eight times while Norbert Duteteriwacu scored six to guide the law enforcers to a deserved victory on Day Nine of the National Handball League Championship.

The win extends the lead for the record five-time champions to maximum 27 points to continue to manage the log, scoring 226 goals in all league games.

In an interview, Police Handball Club coach, Dismas Turatsinze, said: “We have one match remaining to the end of the first round, the team is very energetic and inspired. Our ambition is to maintain the lead throughout the league.”

The remaining match will be against GS Kigoma.
