Police Handball Club overcame GS Rambura of Nyabihu district by a score of 52-17, thereby beginning it's season from where it left off last year as the country's most successful team.
The game which attracted several resident and students from Nyabihu on March 29 witnessed Police Handball Club dominating the secondary school both in defense and attack.
Zakariya Tuyishime and Jean Paul Muhawenayo emerged top scorers in the game, each collecting ten points for Police, while Gilbert Mutuyimana emerged third highest with nine points for Police.
Police Head Coach, Antoine Ntibagayimana praised his players for playing as a united force searching for glory as one.
The three time national champions are yet again favorites for this year's silverware, with much hope of registering maximum points owing to the fact that they lost no player among those that wrote history last season by winning seven trophies, and have six new signings this season.
The new signings include Jean Paul Muhawenayo, who was crucial in last weekend's 37-24 win over Rwamagana-based, GS St. Aloys scoring an individual match high 10 goals, and goalkeeper Samuel Bananimana.
"So far we have won two trophies this season and our target is to make it no different from the previous season... to claim all awards in all competitions that we will be called to participate in," Police head coach, AIP Antoinne Ntabanganyimana, said.
"The team was well prepared and it showed in the way they played. They know the relevance of team work and it is through which they managed to overcome a well organised opponent, " he said.
Police Handball club was last year's most decorated side, winning all seven trophies available.
