Governor Musabyimana roots for collaboration against crimes

The Governor of the Northern Province, Jean Claude Musabyimana has lauded the existing general security of the province but also called for more vigilance among residents to sustain the situation.

Governor Musabyimana was speaking recently in Gicumbi district during a regular provincial security review meeting which brought together representatives of security organs, mayors, sector and cell executive secretaries and village leaders in the province.

During the meeting local government officials noted that isolated cases of petty theft and cases related to domestic violence were recorded and attributed in some cases to alcohol abuse and family conflicts.

The governor urged all district officials to work in unison with security agencies mainly through sharing credible information which will facilitate investigations and consequently arrest offenders.

“I challenged you  to strengthen  cooperation with security organs to identify individuals involved in trafficking cannabis, illicit gins like kanyanga and chief waragi, which are always sneaked into the country through porous borders; this will help to deal with the challenge effectively.” said  Governor Musabyimana.

The meeting ended with a new resolve to sustain security by stepping up neighborhood watch activities  among the population and improved coordination on the part of the leadership.
