A police operation conducted in the cells of Bukinanyana and Kigarama of Musha sector in Gisagara district on June 20 seized about 3200 litres of illicit brew.
Five people were also arrested after they were found selling the locally made illicit brew.
The operation was conducted in cooperation with local leaders.
The confiscated illicit brew was also destroyed in presence of hundreds of area residents including students.
Inspector of Police Alphonse Nkaka, District Community Liaison Officer warned them against illegal acts of illicit drug trade and consumption.
He urged them to always report those individuals involved in brewing and selling the illicit liquor.
