Gasabo: Youth urged to Join RNP

Police in Gasabo District have urged able-bodied Rwandan youths to join Rwanda National police as policemen and women to serve in the honorable job of securing peace and security.

Speaking yesterday at Dove Hotel in Gisozi sector, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Felly Rutagerura, the central region police commander said police was a proud institution to serve with by all patriotic Rwandans.

He was speaking to about 500 youth volunteers in community policing organization(YVCPO).

He mentioned that Rwanda National police force is one of the most hardworking institution, ensuring that the country remains in peace and those who don’t comply with the law are apprehended.

“Without these men and women in uniform, the whole community would probably be in chaos”. For that reason, he said, in Rwanda, there is a regular recruitment of people into the police service to replace those who have left the service due to one reason or the other.

“This is why we need the presence of the police and in good numbers to maintain law and order,” he said.

He advised those interested to approach their nearest police district police units (DPU) and tender in their applications. The deadline for submitting applications is fixed on May 12.

The basic requirements to join RNP are being a Rwandan with at least 25 years of age, to have completed secondary school education and with no criminal record among other requirements
