The District Police Commander of Gasabo has asked local and community patrols to strengthen their efforts in ensuring safety and security in their localities.
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Dan Ndayambaje made the appeal on Wednesday while presiding over the official opening of training of cell executive secretaries, head and members of night patrols and Community Policing Committees (CPCs) in Kinyinya sector.
The three-day training focuses on strengthening their performance in maintaining fighting and preventing crimes in the sector.
CSP Ndayambaje appealed asked them to tighten their collaboration to harmonize their daily activities in crime prevention and to always provide timely information on anything that might threaten security in communities.
Participants will also cover areas of protecting the environment.
The training was organized in partnership with the District and Police operating in this entity.
“Security is a key driver to development, which we should strive for jointly,” CSP Ndayambaje stated.
Trainees were challenged to make use of the training to acquire additional skills and knowledge which will enable them to execute their duties effectively.
In a related development, Police in Gasabo also met with students of APAER Rusororo and Kabuga High School and sensitized them on the dangers of drug abuse.
