Police in Gasabo District has recovered over Rwf800, 000 stolen recently in Gasabo District.

The money was stolen by a domestic worker identified as Callixte Nzabonimpa on Thursday, from his employer in Kinyina Sector, Nyamweru Cell in Nyamweru Vllage.

"Nzabonimpa broke into his employer's car where he stole a total of Rwf859, 500," Senior Supt. Emmanuel Hitayezu, the Central Region Police spokesperson, said.

"Nzabonimpa was arrested in possession of all the money after the victim reported the theft incident," SSP Hitayezu said.

He advises members of the public to desist from carrying huge sums of money, which also tempts others.

He also thanked the people, who provided information on the whereabouts of the suspect, which facilitated to recovered all the money.

Article 300 of the Penal Code stipulates that anyone found guilt of theft without violence or threat shall be liable to a term of imprisonment of six months to two years and a fine of two to five times the value of the stolen property or one of the penalties.
