Gasabo: Rusororo residents tipped on crime prevention

The Mayor of Gasabo district Willy Ndizeye has appealed to residents of Rusororo sector to own initiatives aimed at improving safety in the area, which will help them to even set further step in development.

Ndizeye made the call on October 7 during a meeting with the residents held in Ruhanga cell.

It was also attended by the District Police Commander Chief Supt. of Police (CSP), Dan Ndayambaje.

The mayor lauded the current existing police-public partnership in crime prevention in the area and their role in development issues, but urged them to strengthen night patrols in order to deal with few security challenges like drug abuse and domestic violence, that still exist.

He also urged them to actively take part in government development programmes like Umuganda, subscribe to the health insurance scheme, Mutuelle de santé.

CSP Ndayambaje also thanked them for collaborating with Police and urged them to uphold the spirit.

He urged them to abstain and fight illegal acts like use and sell of illicit drugs, theft, assault and gender based violence.

He noted that there are some individuals that still indulge in distilling illicit brew and urged them to report such people to police in order to prevent things that can cause insecurity in their communities.
