Police, local leaders and youth volunteers in Gasabo District, on June 25, conducted separate awareness campaigns to educate the public on safety practices to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
The mass campaign was conducted separately in the sectors of Kinyinya, Kimironko, Bumbogo and Remera as part of the efforts to educate the people and influence safety and healthy actions to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
They were enlightened on the government directives and recommended practices, and given practical sessions on how to wear a facemask covering the nose and mouth, sanitizing hands or washing hands with clean water and soap, and social distancing.
They were also reminded to respect the curfew, avoid unnecessary movements and journeys, do away with the habit of shaking hands and hugging each other, which are one of the ways through which COVID-19 is spread.
The awareness campaign targeted people in markets, trading, bus parks and parking stations, on roads and other places with many people.
