FOOTBALL: Police FC down Kiyovu

Police Football Club climbed to the third position on the National Premier League table after securing a 3-1 convincing win over Kiyovu Sports at Kigali Pele stadium on Friday, October 20.

The Gerayo Amahoro boys came on Day Seven looking to build on their one-nil win over AS Kigali on Day Six.

Didier Mugisha opened the score in the 18th minute from the spot-kick after Abed Bigirimana was fouled in the box.

Kiyovu brought the match back to square through a Djuma Nizeyimana's penalty.

Vincent Mashami's Police doubled the score in the dying minutes of the first period through Muhadjiri Hakizimana to put the law enforcers back in the lead.

Police goalkeeper had less work to do in the second half as Kiyovu looked vulnerable in all positions despite Police FC wasting a number of chances.

But the efforts paid off in the 61st minute when Mugenzi Bienvenue added his name on the score sheet to make it 3-1

The law enforcers increased the tally to 13 points, Four  behind table leaders Musanze FC and one point behind the second placed, APR.

Now, Police FC will be looking to maintain their performance when they face Gasogi United on Day Eight, come October 28.
