Family development is achievable where there are no domestic conflicts – DPC

Ngororero District Police Commander (DPC) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Marc Gasangwa has told residents to uphold harmony in their family as means of achieving family development.

He made the remarks this week as he addressed residents from Gatumba Sector during the event to mark the girl child’s day – an international day marked every October 11.

The DPC was flanked by the vice mayor in charge of social affairs Janvier Kuradusenge.

“A family is the pillar of a nation’s development and this is why government invests a lot in the welfare of its people and precisely family promotion,” he said.

Kuradusenge also advised them to take part in all social development programmes which he said are rolled out for their welfare.

SSP Gasangwa told residents that where their conflicts, children’s upbringing is poor which affects the future of the country.

He added that most causes of family conflicts have a connection to abuse of drugs and excessive alcohol consumption.

“Insecurities within families are mostly escalated when one partners is abusing alcohol or drugs. There cannot be family development where there are conflicts. A family’s development easily translates to the country’s development,” he said.

Residents pledged to enhance their family relations and ensure that non of their neighbours is having conflicts.
