Police has warned drivers against transporting illegal commodities which has facilitated the smuggling and trafficking of dangerous goods into the country.
It is said that some drivers connive with drug dealers and smugglers to transport their illegal luggage such as cannabis, liquor and polythene bags.
On June 6, Police in Kibeho sector of Nyaruguru district intercepted a public vehicle with two kilogrammes of cannabis.
The main suspect, Vestine Nyirandama, 59, was also arrested.
She is currently detained at Munini Police station.
Police in Nyaruguru said some drivers have in the recent past been arrested in connection with facilitating drug dealers to transport narcotics to other parts of the country.
Police appeals to the public not to give chance for such acts to continue by reporting all those involved.
