The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Personnel, DCG Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza, on Saturday, June 14, hosted a dinner for senior officers of the 14th intake of the Police Senior Command and Staff Course (PSCSC) at the National Police College (NPC) in Musanze District, as they prepare to complete the course.
The event brought together local government leaders, senior security officers, course participants, and their families to celebrate the successful completion of the one-year programme ahead of the officers' graduation.
The graduating officers come from ten African countries: Eswatini, The Gambia, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, the Central African Republic, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Rwanda.
Speaking at the event, DIGP Ujeneza said the occasion was an opportunity to celebrate achievement, commitment, and partnership.

"Tonight, we celebrate the successful completion of an important programme that has prepared officers for greater leadership responsibilities within their respective institutions," she said.
She noted that the course had provided participants with an opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills and broaden their professional knowledge.
DIGP Ujeneza also highlighted the significance of the multinational nature of the programme, which brought together officers from different countries to learn and share experiences.
"Through this interaction, participants have built professional relationships while advancing our shared goals of peace, security, stability, and development across Africa," she said, noting that cooperation among police leaders remains vital in addressing modern security challenges that increasingly cross-national borders.

On institutional partnerships, DIGP Ujeneza commended the collaboration between the National Police College, the University of Rwanda, and the African Leadership University.
"Strategic policing requires leaders who can think critically, adapt to changing circumstances, and make sound decisions in complex environments," she noted.
The Police Senior Command and Staff Course is designed to equip senior officers with advanced leadership, management, and strategic decision-making skills necessary to address contemporary policing and security challenges while strengthening regional and international cooperation.
