The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations, Dan Munyuza urged police officers operating in the Eastern Province to be guided by hard work, professionalism and discipline to further realize the mandate of Rwanda National Police.
DIGP Munyuza made the call while on a four-day tour in the region which ended on Friday in Bugesera, and visited the District Police Units (DPUs).
The visit was part of the Rwanda National Police countrywide tour to assess the performance, advise DPUs and deliver President Paul Kagame’s New Year message dedicated to security forces.
He read to Head of State’s message to the officers and urged them to double the momentum in accomplishing the set targets of the force.
“Your performance should depict the mission and vision of the force and to serve the public to the best of their expection,” DIGP Munyuza stated.
The RNP Vision is to make the people living in Rwanda feel safe, involved and reassured while its mission is “dedication to the delivery of high quality services, accountability and transparency, safeguard the rule of law and provide a safe and crime free environment for all.”
He appealed to them to avoid and fight malpractices like corruption, and make community policing an effective tool in the campaign to fight and prevent crimes by engaging the general public and local leaders.
He further challenged them to be exemplary and to be active in community development activities like Umuganda.
