The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, CP Vincent Sano, on Friday, May 15, hosted Officer Cadets of the 14th intake to a dinner ahead of the completion of their training at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari.
DIGP Sano noted that the occasion honours their resilience, discipline, integrity, courage, in a highly demanding training driven by commitment to public service.
He commended the Officer Cadets for the teamwork and sacrifice throughout the intensive training programme, emphasizing that the responsibilities awaiting them go far beyond rank.

“The uniform you are about to wear represents accountability, leadership, service, and the trust that the nation places in you,” DIGP Sano said.
He further urged them to uphold professionalism, ethical conduct, and respect for human dignity, noting that effective leadership is measured not only by operational capability but also by character and the ability to lead by example.

The Deputy Police Chief also praised the participation of allied students from Seychelles describing it as a reflection of the strong cross-border in advancing regional security and professional policing.
The Commandant of PTS Gishari, Commissioner of Police (CP) Rafiki Mujiji, said the dinner symbolize the transformation of the cadets into future leaders of the Rwanda National Police and other law enforcement institutions.
“It is a moment of pride, reflection, and celebration for the cadets, their trainers, and the entire school fraternity,” CP Mujiji said.
