Consuming or selling narcotics and illicit brew is illegal in the country and Rwanda National Police continues to warn anyone that could still be indulging in this unlawfully act to desist before their luck runs out.
Routine operations against drug dealers are held in different parts of the country in which most people involved are arrested to face justice and drugs such as cannabis and illicit brew confiscated and destroyed in presence of the general public, especially the youth in schools.
On Tuesday, a 44-year old man was apprehended in Kicukiro District after Police discovered 15 kilogrammes and 352 pellets of cannabis, 104 packets of Chief Waragi and 6.5 litres of kanyanga in his house.
Also apprehended are loiterers and suspected thieves.

The District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent (CSP) John Ntaganda warned that there are comprehensive strategies to deal with people that could be involved in illegal activities like drug abuse.
“Kicukiro, like all other parts of the country, is enjoying security because the public take the lead in ensuring their own safety and provide information about individuals that could still be involved in any unlawful act, most of whom we have arrested,” CSP Ntaganda noted.
