On Saturday, November 6, the Director General for Central African Republic (CAR) Gendarmerie, Director General Landry Urlich Depot visited various Rwanda National Police (RNP) facilities in Rubavu District.
DG Landry and his delegation are in Rwanda since Tuesday for a six-day visit to build cross-border cooperation between RNP and Gendarmerie of CAR.
In Rubavu, DG Landry and his delegation visited the Western Regional Police Unit (RPU) headquarters and witnessed the RNP operations at One-Stop Border Post with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

At the Regional Police Unit (RPU) headquarters, Director General Landry was showed the security image and related operations in the Western region.
?The Western region, like all parts of Rwanda, is safe and secure. Being on the borderline, our operations mainly target smugglers, drug traffickers, burglary and illegal cross-border," Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Edmond Kalisa, the Western region Police commander, said.
DG Landry toured various facilities of the regional headquarters including hostels and mess.
Director General Landry lauded the Police operations to secure the borders, fight crimes and safer control of cross-border traffic flow at border points.
?I have been impressed by the modern facilities established for the welfare of RNP personnel which undoubtedly assist them to concentrate on their security duties. The vigilance and use of technology at the border also shows the professionalism of Rwanda Police," DG Landry said.
