The awareness campaign against drug abuse in schools in Kigali continued in Saint Paul International School in Gasabo district on April 3 with a call to abstain from the vice if they are to have a brighter future.
AIP Alexandre Minanani, told students not to be seduced by the so called sugar daddies and report individuals and groups involved in crimes like gender violence and drug abuse in their communities during their holidays.
He also warned them against drunkenness, especially the under-aged, which are both illegal and a threat to their future.
The school head-teacher, Bernard Banamwana thanked the Rwanda National Police (RNP) for the educative lecture to create future leaders and added that the school will incorporate it in its curriculum.
The youth are said to be majority group involved in drug-related crimes like sell and consumption of narcotics and illicit brew, which lures one into other crimes like theft, assault and leads to unwanted pregnancies and school drop-outs.
