The first round of CAF confederation saw Police FC holding VC Makanda at their home ground in Congo Brazzaville the match ended goalless draw at Stade Municipal in Pointe-Noire.
The game started without Police defender Jean Paul Uwihoreye, whose position was played by Hertier Turatsinze, and midfielder Rashid Kalisa who were injured during national league match against Musanze.
Despite much pressure to get a home goal Police FC managed to hold tight the Congolese champions up to the last minute.
The second half which saw much offenses from both parties, but police strikers Isae Songa and Danny Usengimana failed to shake VC Makanda nets.
Police's captain Innocent Habyarimana speaking to the press after the game said there was challenged by high temperatures in the hosting city of Brazzaville.
"There is no doubt we will make it hard for them in the return game back home in Kigali," he said.
If Police FC wins the Kigali game, the team will automatically qualify for the eighth, the return leg will be played on 19th March at Stade de Kigali and the winner will take on the winner between Angola’s Sagrada Esperança and Mozambique’s Liga Desportiva de Maputo in the second round.
