Bugesera: CPCs discuss on tightening security

Over one hundred members of Community Policing Committees (CPCs) in Ntarama sector of Bugesera District met on October 27 to evaluate the security status in the sector and to devise further crime preventive mechanisms to reinforce safety and security in the sector.

The meeting was also attended by the sector executive secretary Berthilde Mukantwari and Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) Cyprien Uwitonze, the District Community Liaison Officer (DCLO).

Aaron Musabyimana, one of the participants said, “It was imperative that we meet to evaluate ourselves, share experiences and lay crime preventive measures to improve safety and security in our area.”

“Criminals do not sleep so as anti-crime agents in the community, it is imperative that we keep ahead of them, and this meeting is a good platform for us to jointly look for ways to accomplish our tasks,” Musabyimana added.

AIP Uwitonze thanked them for evaluating themselves and urged them to tighten night patrols to fight drug abuse and spearhead the awareness against crimes such as gender violence, child abuse and human trafficking.
