On August 1, 2014, an incident happened in Ruhango District where a family of six in Kamusenyi cell of Byimana sector was attacked and killed.
The deceased include a mother and her five children.
Rwanda National Police has since launched investigations into the murder and initial investigations indicate that the inhuman act was due to land conflicts between members of the family.
Three people, all close members of the family have since been apprehended and investigations are still ongoing to bring to justice all those connected to this criminal act.
Rwanda National Police gravely condemns these acts and calls upon the general public to facilitate ongoing investigation to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
