Twenty five Police officers from different Police Units have started a ‘Basic Police Tactics and Methods’ training that is expected to make them more efficient in their work.
The five-day training started on Monday, November 17, at the National Police Headquarters in Kacyiru.
Under the facilitation of Germany trainers, participants will cover key lessons such as; science of evidence, complaint file keeping, first criminal response, Police interrogation and practical exercise of police interrogation among others.
This course will be followed by another one of its kind.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), in charge Administration and Personnel, Juvenal Marizamunda, who presided over the official opening of the course, lauded the existing partnership between Rwanda National Police and the Federal Republic of Germany, particularly in training.
“This course is another added input to our capacity building programme more specifically in our journey to combat crimes and making people living in Rwanda feel safe,” said DIGP Marizamunda.
DIGP Marizamunda urged course participants to take the course seriously, acquire skills and importantly share the knowledge with the rest of servicemen in order to professionally execute their daily policing duties.
Rainer Harmas, one of the trainers also said the course was designed to enable beneficiaries have a well organized investigation plan.
