10-man Police FC beat Marine to go fourth

Ten-man Police Football Club climbed up to the fourth place on Azam Rwanda Premier League log after overcoming Marine 3-2 in a match played Saturday at Kicukiro artificial turf.

The hosts found themselves behind in the 13th minute after  Cedric Samba put Marine in the lead on Day Seven of the league.

Striker Peter Otema was quick to respond just nine minutes later through a Jean Marie Vianny Muvandimwe's assist to level.

Ose Iyabivuze made the mark just four minutes to the end of the first period to put the law enforcers in the lead (2-1).

Albert Joel Mphande's Police found themselves a man less just few minutes into the second period after Patrick Niyondamye was shown the second yellow card.

Regardless, Ose Iyabivuze was on the target in the 70th minute to make it 3-1.

Saleh Nyirinkindi's free-kick in the 75th minute that brought the visitors back into the game was, however, not enough to deny the hosts maximum points as they held on to the last whistle.

The win took Police to the fourth place on equal points (15) with third placed Rayon Sport but one point behind table leaders Mukura VS.

Police FC's next task will be against Entincelles FC away in Rubavu on December 11.
