Police 'Tactical Course' students in study tour

Forty-five Junior officers currently attending the 12th intake of the 'Police Tactical Commanders Course,? conducted a study tour as part of their five-month course at the National Police College (NPC) in Musanze District.

Police, RRA up against tax fraud


Traders were cautioned against fraudulent practices to evade taxes, which pose serious threat to their businesses and loss of government revenue.

In a joint press conference by Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), Rwanda National Police (RNP), Private Sector Federation (PSF) and Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition and Consumer Protection (RICA); held on Friday November 25, officials warned of serious repercussions for tax evasion.

RNP spokesperson, Commissioner of Police (CP) John Bosco Kabera said that over the past two weeks, the Revenue Protection Unit (RPU) arrested 86 traders in City of Kigali for tax fraud.  Read more...

45 complete public health protection course


Forty-five officials from various government institutions, on Wednesday November 23, completed a public health protection course on food safety and drugs quality.

During the eight days, participants covered key aspects of public health protection such as food safety and hygiene inspections, counterfeit pharmaceuticals; tools for inspection (checklists) of food and pharmacies; and anti-doping.

Functionality of pharmaceutical Security Initiative (PSI) in tracking counterfeit medicines as well as laws and policies also formed part of the training.  Read more...

You will be arrested for using another person's driving license

Rwanda National Police (RNP) issued a stern warning to motorists, who may be holding or using other people's driving license.

This was after two taxi-moto operators were arrested separately in the City of Kigali, holding driver's license belonging to other people.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rene Irere, the spokesperson for Traffic and Road Safety department, said that the two suspects were using driver's license, either stolen from or misplaced by right owners.  Read more...

Police arrest three drug dealers in Nyarugenge


Three suspected drug dealers were arrested in separate Police operations in Nyarugenge District, with combined 6kgs and 60 rolls of cannabis.

They include one Alex Benihirwe, 28, who was apprehended on Friday November 25, in Nyabugogo Village, Kimisagara Cell in Kimisagara Sector with 6kgs of cannabis.  Read more...
