Police Handball Club was on Saturday crowned the East and Central Africa Handball Federation (ECAHF) senior club champions after edging APR 30-27 in the finals.
The regional tournament kicked off Monday in Kigali bringing together four clubs; Police, APR and Gicumbi, all from Rwanda and Nyuki from Zanzibar.
Police, who had narrowly lost to APR (38-37) in the opening match of the tournament, were flying high in the first half scoring 22 goals to 15 scored by their opponent.
The first 30 minutes of the game were, however, a nightmare to the 2015 ECAHF champions as APR went 7-0. It looked like a match lost and chance squandered for the law enforcers to add their sixth trophy in the cabin this season, but Police turned the game around in the remainder of the first period with back-to-back goals to go to rest with seven goals lead.

There was a delay to start the second period due to heavy rains, but the match resumed after it subsidized.
"I want to commend the determination, teamwork and the winning spirit that players exhibited especially in the first half when we were lagging behind with seven goals down," Police coach, Inspector of Police(IP) Antoine Ntabanganyimana, said.
"We lost to APR in the build up to the finals and we knew what it meant meeting them again in the finals and losing to them for the second consecutive time."
Police captain, Cpl. Norbert Duteteruwacu said that losing to APR in their opening match was a lesson learnt, which they worked hard to rectify in the finals.
