Handball: Police to face APR in regional tournament finals

Police Handball Club has booked its placed in the finals of the East and Central Africa Handball Federation (ECAHF) senior club championship.

The record seven-time Rwanda Handball Champions will face their usual local challenger, APR in the finals of the regional tournament to be played this Saturday.

The tournament started Monday in Kigali bringing together four clubs; Police, APR and Gicumbi, all from Rwanda and Nyuki from Zanzibar.

Police made its way to the finals after eliminating Nyuki 42-32 on Wednesday and 25-22 against Gicumbi on Thursday.

The 2019 Rwanda Handball champions will be seeking revenge in the finals having lost 38-37 in their opening match against APR.
 
They will also be seeking their second East and Central Africa Handball Federation, which they last won in 2015 when the tournament was also staged in Rwanda.

Should they come out glorious, it will be their sixth trophy in the Police cabinet this season in addition to the championship, Heroes Cup, Super Cup, Beach Handball and the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO) cup, which they won for the second successive time during the third edition held in Kenya in August.
