Join As Commissioned Officer

You will lead other in policing work, from office work to field operations.

Our recruitment process asseses key competencies encompassing intellect, health conditions and fitness and prior offence history.

Minimum requirement
  • Before applying, ensure that you meet minimum requirements.
  • Rwandan by nationality
  • Aged between 21 and 27 years old for candidates with university degree (A0).
  • If joining unde the 4 years undergraduate scheme, you must be between 18 and 23 years old and hold a high school diploma (A2)
  • Have not been dismissed by any function of public services
  • Be in excellent health
  • Have a good character
  • No criminal conviction of more than six (6) months
Application Process
Recruitment application

You will be required to submit an application for you and submit all required documents to the nearest District Police Unit. Your application will be assessed, and some may be rejected.

Selection of eligible candidates for written exam

Our recruitment officers will review your application to determine your eligibility and suitability to join Rwanda National Police.

Entrance exam

You will do 2 hours written exam [we could mention the written exam component]. You need to obtain at least 50% marks to pass the exam. If you do not pass the written exam, your application will end.

Health, fitness and physical checks

You will be required to do a health, physical and fitness test designed to assess your current health status, cardio fitness and physical strength

Recruit

A candidate who successfully completes the health, physical and fitness checks will wait for an invitation to start training at the Police School.
