Police Handball Club getting back to its winning ways

TWO-TIME national handball champions, Police Handball Club believe they have all it takes to win this year’s competition after losing it to Gicumbi, last year.

“We are well prepared and players are focused to winning each and every game,” said the club couch, Assistant Inspector Antoine Ntabanganyimana.

Police Handball Club was the 2011 and 2012 champions.

It now lies fourth on the log with maximum six points in two games, but with a game in hand. A win against APR on Sunday at Kimisagara Youth centre will take them to the summit currently manned by Ecole Secondaire Kigoma (9 points), APR (8 points) and Saint Aloys (7 points) respectively.

They won the first two encounters with the College of Education (43-11) and Nyakabanda (34-24) respectively.

“We got some few setbacks last year which affected the clubs performance, but we have rectified them, brought in new players and boosted the team spirit. All eyes are now on the trophy,” AIP Ntabanganyimana.
