Police in Nyarugenge district is holding two men after they were found in possession of Fake Rwandan currency notes.

Christian Ganza, d Mark Habizena were apprehended yesterday in Nzove cell of Kanyinya sector with fake notes in Rwf2000 and Rwf5000.

Police also recovered scanners and radios in their house, which police say could have been stolen in some parts of the city.

They are currently detained at Magerere police station as investigations continue.

 Police said they were informed of the duo's criminal acts by area residents.

Superintendent Mbabazi Modeste, Police spokesperson central thanked those who provided information that led to the arrest of the duo.

He also appealed to the business community to always be vigilant and check thoroughly the currencies given to them by customers because they are always to first victims and likely to incur losses for the given counterfeit notes.

Counterfeit leads to inflation in the economy and also affects family and personal income, he observed.
