Minister of Interior for Central African Republic visits Rwanda National Police

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), CG Felix Namuhoranye, on Thursday, February 22, received the Minister of Interior for Central African Republic (CAR), Michel Nicaise Nassin, at the Rwanda National Police RNP General Headquarters, Kacyiru.

Minister Nassin and his delegation, which include the Director General for CAR Gendarmerie Nationale,

Gen. Landry Ulrich Depot, were in Rwanda for a week-long visit to strengthen the existing cooperation in security and policing.Read more

Female Police officers attend professional development course to prevent use of children in armed conflicts

Eighteen female Police officers, on Monday, February 20, attended a one-day professional development course conducted by the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace, and Security to further advance efforts to prevent the recruitment and use of children in armed conflicts.

The course held at the Regional Center of Excellence on GBV and Child Abuse at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters in Kacyiru, was designed to update the female Police trainers with the recent developments related to curriculum and training methodology and on the content of the new 4th edition of Dallaire Institute Handbook.Read more

Four people were arrested on Thursday, February 22, in Ngororero District in connection with illegal mining activities and related trade.
