RNP hold leadership and management seminar on corruption

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Monday, February 5, started a five-day senior level leadership and management seminar on strategies to combat corruption.

It is attended by commissioners and senior police officers of Rwanda National Police.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Personnel, DCG Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza, while opening the seminar, at the RNP General Headquarters, Kacyiru, said that when corruption and security risks combine, they compromise the safety of state at the benefit of the few and at the expense of public purse.Read more

Rwanda National Police participates in UAE SWAT Challenge

Rwanda National Police (RNP) participated in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Challenge 2024.

The RNP was represented by two SWAT teams; RNP SWAT Team-1 and RNP SWAT Team-2, in the five-day Challenge, which started on February 3, in Dubai. 

In the overall standings, RNP-1 and RNP-2 came 12th and 19th, respectively, out of 73 SWAT teams from Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Africa.

RNP SWAT Team-1 was, however, the overall best team in 'Obstacle Course' while RNP SWAT Team 2 came 6th.Read more


Rwandan Police unit in CAR scoops 'Best Contingent' award

The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) were recognized Rwanda Protection Support Unit-One rotation Eight (RWAPSU1-8) as the 'Best Contingent' for its professionalism and outstanding human security outreach programmes.

"This certificate is issued to Rwanda PSU for its commitment and contribution to community activities, blood donation, medicine donation, sanitation, water distribution and other charitable activities for the benefit of the Central African Republic civilian population, which is in line with the mandate of MINUSCA," the MINUSCA message reads.Read more

Leadership and management key to achieve Rwanda National Police mandate

Leadership and management are pivotal to Rwanda National Police (RNP) to achieve its mandate and mission, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Personnel, Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza, said.

She was speaking on Friday , February 9, at the closing of the five-day 'Senior Leadership and Management' for commissioners and senior police officers held at the RNP General Headquarters in Kacyiru. Read more

Police peacekeepers in CAR donate blood

Rwanda Formed Police Unit Two rotation Eight (RWAFPU2-8) and Rwandan Individual Police Officers (IPO) deployed in Kaga Bandoro under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization in Central African Republic (MINUSCA), donated blood to support Kaga Bandoro District Hospital.

The two-day humanitarian exercise conducted on 9th and 10th February, was part of the MINUSCA UN Police Week in partnership with Kaga Bandoro District Hospital to save lives.Read more

Rwandan Police peacekeepers in South Sudan donate to vulnerable pupils

On Thursday, February 8, Rwanda Formed Police Unit One (RWAFPU-1) contingent deployed in Malakal, Upper Nile State under the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), donated assorted scholastic materials to about 900 vulnerable pupils of Intersos and Salama II primary schools.

The two primary schools are located inside Malakal Protection of Civilians (PoC) site, which is under the protection of the Rwandan Formed Police Unit contingent.

The items handed to the headteachers by the contingent commander, Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Speciose Dusabe, include 3,000 exercise books and 2,916 pens.Read more

Rwandan Police peacekeepers in Central African Republic conduct Umuganda

Rwanda Formed Police Unit Three (RWAFPU-3) second rotation as well as Rwandan Individual Police Officers (IPO) deployed in Bangassou city under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), conducted Umuganda on Tuesday, February 6, to clean up the central market.

The hygiene communal work was also attended by peacekeepers from other contributing countries, the CAR Police and the local communities.Read more

Thousands of road users tipped on Gerayo Amahoro

The ongoing Gerayo Amahoro road safety campaign conducted over the past one week, benefited more than 17,400 road users across the country.

Police officers engaged primary and secondary students, teachers, pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and drivers on road safety practices.Read more
