IGP Namuhoranye attends Interpol General Assembly in Vienna

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye, was part of the Rwandan delegation headed by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General Dr Emmanuel Ugirashebuja, attending the 91st Interpol General Assembly, which started on Tuesday, November 28, in Vienna, Austria.

The delegation also include the Secretary-General of Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Col (rtd) Jeannot Ruhunga.Read more

Rwanda Formed Police Unit-One (RWAFPU-1) deployed in Malakal under the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) won the volleyball tournament organized by the mission to mark the World AIDS Day.

The Rwandan peacekeepers beat UNPOL three straight sets in the finals played on November 29, in Upper Nile State.

The medal awarding event held on December 2, was presided over by the UNMISS officer in charge of Malakal Field Office, Paul Adejoh Ebikwo, who handed over the medals.Read more

SPORTS: Police Handball Club off to Kenya for ECAHF Club Championship

The Rwanda National Police RNP (RNP) Handball club left on Friday to Kenya to participate in the annual East and Central Africa Handball Federation (ECAHF) Club championship.

The 2023 tournament for senior clubs is slated to run from 2-9 December, at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

Prior their departure, the team was briefed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Personnel, Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza, who urged them to "maintain the winning spirit" as good Rwandan ambassadors.Read more

Police warns over illegal currency exchange

Rwanda National Police (RNP) cautions the public against illegal money trade, a financial crime that comes with adverse economic effects.

The force urges all those involved in forex exchange to follow the law and to operate in designated or licensed places.

The caution follows the arrest of four suspected illegal money changers, on Wednesday, November 29, in Gisenyi town, Rubavu District.Read more
