Rwanda, Burkina Faso Police Chiefs hold bilateral meeting in Kigali

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye, on Tuesday, November 21, received his counterpart of Burkina Faso, Controller General Dr. Roger Ouedraogo, at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters, Kacyiru for a bilateral meeting to build stronger policing relations between the two Police forces.

IGP Namuhoranye commends Police volleyball clubs' remarkable performance

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye met with the Police men and women Volleyball clubs, on Tuesday, November 21, and commended the players for the remarkable performance in various local and regional competitions.

IGP Namuhoranye thanked them for the winning spirit and being result oriented.

The two Police volleyball teams have won combined nine trophies this year. Read more

PEACEKEEPING: Rwanda replaces female-dominated Police contingent in South Sudan

On Monday, November 20, Rwanda completed the rotation of the female-dominated Formed Police Unit Three (RWAFPU3) contingent to Juba under the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

The RWAFPU3-6 of 160 officers under the command of Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Angelique Uwamariya replaced RWAFPU3-5, which returned home later in the afternoon after a successful one-year peacekeeping duty in South Sudan.Read more

Private security companies tipped on professional services

On Wednesday, November 22, Rwanda National Police (RNP) held a meeting with owners and managers of private security companies to further streamline their services and to ensure professionalism.

Commissioner of Police (CP) John Bosco Kabera, the Commissioner for Infrastructure Security and Private Security Providers (ISPSP) said that private security firms contribute to national security, which requires them to be professional. Read more


Rwanda National Police resumes fire safety awareness

The Fire and and Rescue Brigade (FRB) has resumed its awareness in fire emergencies and precautionary measures in a bid to further curb fire outbreaks, which are largely attributed to reckless human behaviours.

Mother, son arrested with 105kgs of cannabis

Three people, including a woman and her son, were arrested on Sunday, November 19, in Mwulire sector of Rwamagana district with 105kgs of cannabis.

The trio is alleged to be part of the racket of drug traffickers, largely from Tanzania, through porous borders, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Hamdun Twizeyimana, the Police spokesperson for the Eastern region.Read more
