Rwanda, Singapore Police forces hold bilateral meeting in Kigali

Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) held a bilateral meeting at the Police General Headquarters in Kacyiru, on Monday, July 17, to further strengthen the existing policing cooperation.

It was held in the framework of the existing cooperation signed in August last year in Singapore, formalizing partnership in capacity development as well as fighting and preventing transnational organized crimes.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye, while welcoming his Singapore counterpart, Commissioner of Police (CP) Hoong Wee Teck, said the visit indicates the importance of the cooperation, commitment and willingness by the two police institutions to jointly counter the evolving security challenges.Read more

Kent State University students visit RNP

Fifteen students from Kent State University in the USA, visited Rwanda National Police (RNP) on Monday, July 17, as part of their studies on peace-building.

They were received by Commissioner of Police (CP) Bruce Munyambo, the commissioner for community policing, who gave them an insight into the RNP strategies and the community-oriented policing model.

In a presentation, CP Munyambo took the students through the RNP history, structures, operations, partnership with different stakeholders and the public, community development and related human security activities, among others.Read more

GERAYO AMAHORO: Jali transport drivers urged to be exemplary in preventing accidents

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Thursday, July 20, took the 'Gerayo Amahoro' road safety awareness campaign to drivers and other employees of Jali Transport Company and urged them to play their part in safeguarding security by preventing road crashes. 

This was in an event held in Kimironko Sector, Gasabo District under the theme: “Road safety is the responsibility of everyone.”Read more

NGORORERO: Drug dealer intercepted with cannabis concealed in traveling bag

A suspected drug dealer was arrested by the Police in Ngororero District on Thursday, July 20, with 995 pellets of cannabis.

The 42-year old suspect was intercepted in Ngororero village, Kabeza cell of Ngororero sector following a well coordinated operations by the Police, local leaders and residents.Read more
