IGP Namuhoranye meets police officers operating in Eastern Province

On Wednesday, April 26, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye met with police officers operating in different police units in the Eastern Province as part of the annual visits by the Rwanda National Police (RNP) leadership to assess the performance and ensure steadfast professional services in all policing and security duties.

While addressing the officers at the Eastern Region Police Headquarters in Rwamagana District, IGP Namuhoranye thanked them for their policing services.

He emphasized that ensuring the safety of people in Rwanda and their property remains the primary responsibility of the Rwanda National Police.Read more

DIGP Ujeneza in Poland for international Police conference

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Personnel, Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza, wasin Poland, where she is attending the International Police Conference.

The two-day conference that started on Tuesday, April 25, at the Polish Exhibition Centre, Kielce city, was officially opened by the Polish Deputy Minister of Interior and Administration, Bartosz Grodecki.

DIGP Ujeneza flanked by Rwanda's ambassador to Poland, Prof. Anastase Shyaka, also held a bilateral meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Police, General Jaroslaw Szymczyk.

Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two police institutions. Read more

PEACEKEEPING: Rwanda rotates Formed Police Unit One in Central African Republic

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Thursday, April 27, rotated its Formed Police Unit One (RWAFPU-1) operating in Bangui under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

Rwanda FPU1-9 of 140 officers commanded by Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Venant Rubayiza, left in the morning to replace Rwanda FPU1-8, which returned home later in the afternoon after a successful one year tour-of-duty. Read more

SOUTH SUDAN: Rwandan peacekeepers train local Police

The Rwanda Formed Police Unit One (RWAFPU1-7) contingent deployed in Malakal, Upper Nile State under the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) conducted a week-long training for the local police to equip them with skills in various policing disciplines.

The training, which concluded on Saturday, April 29, was attended by 80 officers from various units of South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS), deployed in Malakal.Read more

KACYIRU: Over 200 Police officers donate blood

Over 200 Police officers deployed at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters, Kacyiru, and those operating in varied units in City of Kigali, donated blood on Friday, April 28, to boost the national blood bank and to save lives.

The voluntary human security exercise was supervised by the National Center for Blood Transfusion (NCBT).
