IGP Munyuza attends Royal Eswatini Service Police Day

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza, on Friday, August 5, attended the 'Royal Eswatini Service Police Day' to mark the 115 years of service.

IGP Munyuza attended the anniversary at the invitation of his Eswatini counterpart, the National Commissioner of Royal Eswatini Police Service, Tsitsibala William Dlamini.

RNP reassures security during Expo 2022


Rwanda National Police (RNP) reassured the public of security during the ongoing 25th Rwanda International Trade Fair.

RNP, RICA continues awareness on regulations governing trade of used electrical equipment


Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA) have continued the joint public awareness on the Regulations N? DGO/REG/005 of 07/07/2022 governing trade of used electrical and electronic equipment.

NYANZA: Police impound 1574kgs of smuggled clothes


The Revenue Protection Unit (RPU) impounded at least 1574kgs of second-hand clothes in Nyanza District that had been smuggled into Rwanda from the neighboring Burundi through a porous border point.

RPU is a Rwanda National Police (RNP) unit attached to Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) to fight smuggling and fraud.  Read more...

Seven suspected illegal miners arrested in Ngororero


Seven people were arrested in Ngororero District after they were found mining Wolfram illegally in a protected forest.

They were arrested in an operation conducted by Rwanda National Police on Friday, August 5, at about 5am, in Gishwati National Park on the side of Gatomvu Village, Mugarura Cell, Muhanda Sector. They were caught in possession of 4kgs of Wolfram.  Read more...

Police seize over 130 litres of Kanyanga in Nyagatare

At least 138 litres of the banned illicit gin commonly known as Kanyanga were seized from traffickers in separate operations conducted in Nyagatare District on Saturday, July 30.

One Damascene Mukurizehe, 34, was arrested red-handed at his home in Rwebishorogoto village, Gasinga cell, Rwempasha sector with 40 litres of Kanyanga while 98 litres were seized from traffickers in Matimba and Karama sectors, who fled.  Read more...

FIGHTING NARCOTICS: 26kgs of cannabis seized from traffickers


About 26.5kgs of cannabis were seized from two traffickers in separate Police operations conducted on Monday, August 1, in Kirehe and Nyagatare districts.

One of the suspected traffickers identified as Safari Emmanuel Hafashimana, 25, was arrested red-handed in Karembo Village, Rwantonde Cell, Gatore Sector of Kirehe District with 3.5kgs of cannabis.  Read more...
