Over 2,300 complete 'Police Basic Course'

Rwanda National Police (RNP) acquired a new strength of 2137 officers, who are among 2319 that completed the 17th intake of the 'Police Basic Course' at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District, on Saturday, November 20.

Other 182 officers are from the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS). The one-year 17th Police Basic Course intake include 450 females.  Read more...

Rwanda National Police (RNP) cautioned people, who use social media platforms to spread rumours and to incite fear.

KIGALI: Two traders arrested over sell of skin bleaching cosmetics


The Rwanda National Police (RNP) operations against trafficking and selling of the outlawed skin bleaching cosmetics has continued to yield positive results.

In the lastest operations conducted on Wednesday and Thursday, Police arrested two dealers in the skin whitening products commonly known as mukorogo, in Nyarugenge District.  Read more...

KIGALI: Trio arrested over indecent assault


Rwanda National Police (RNP) on Tuesday, November 16, arrested three traders in Inyarurembo Village, Kiyovu Cell of Nyarugenge Sector in Nyarugenge District for alleged indecent assault of their customers.

Indecent assault is defined under article 135 of the law determining offences and penalties in general, as an act against another person's body in any manner whatsoever, without the latter's consent.  Read more...

Fighting drug trafficking: Police foils cannabis supplier


On Wednesday, November 17, Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested one Zubeda Nyiramatama, 49, in Nyabihu District in possession of 876 pellets of cannabis.

Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Bonavanture Twizere Karekezi, the Western region Police spokesperson, Nyiramatama was intercepted in Rugera Village, Nyamitanzi Cell in Jomba sector enroute to Muhanga District to supply one of her clients.  Read more...
