The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Felix Namuhoranye, on Friday July 9, met and brief over 300 Rwanda Police officers, prior to their deployment for security operations in Mozambique.

Motorbike riding course opens at Police Training School

Thirty Police officers, on Tuesday, July 6, started a three-week training on 'Motorbike Riding' course at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishali in Rwamagana District.

The training is conducted by Rwanda National Police (RNP) in partnership with Carabinieri?Italy Police.

Trainees were drawn from Traffic and Road Safety (TRS) department, VIP Protection Unit, and Police Disciplinary Unit (DPU).  Read more...

COVID-19: Public warned against prohibited movements


Rwanda National Police (RNP) has warned the public against movements beyond Kigali and other provinces as well as beyond other districts of the country, which is prohibited under the recent Cabinet directives.

The warning followed separate operations in which vehicles have been impounded smuggling people out of Kigali to other parts of the country.  Read more...

COVID-19: About 30 caught in bars drinking


Twenty-nine people were arrested in Kicukiro and Huye districts where they were found in bars drinking.

The separate Rwanda National Police (RNP) operations were conducted on Saturday and Sunday. 

In City of Kigali, 12 people were on Sunday, July 4, at 4:15pm, found gathered and drinking at Mojo Palace Motel located in Uwabarezi Village, Rubirizi Cell, Kanombe Sector of Kicukiro District.  Read more...

NGORORERO: Police seize one ton of minerals from illegal dealers


Police in Ngororero District arrested two illegal mineral dealers with one ton of minerals. Theophile Munyentwari, 44, and one of his employees, Simeon Ntegeyimana, 32, were arrested on Monday, July 5, in Mohororo Sector, Rugogwe Cell in Nganzo Village.

Chief Inspector of Police (SP) Bonaventure Twizere Karekezi , the Police spokesperson for the Western region, said that that minerals were found at Munyentwari's home.  Read more...

COVID-19: Police impound four vehicles smuggling people out of Kigali


Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Tuesday, July 6, intercepted four vehicles in Ntunga, Mwurire Sector along Kigali-Rwamagana highway, which were smuggling people to different destinations in the Eastern Province.

The drivers were also taken into custody. They were showed to the media on Wednesday, July 7, at Rwamagana District Police Unit (DPU) in Kigabiro Sector.  Read more...
