DIGP Ujeneza urges RNP sports teams on winning spirit

The Deputy Inspector General (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Finance, Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza appealed to Rwanda National Police (RNP) sports teams to always be driven by the winning spirit in their preparations and during competitions.

The DIGP made the remarks on Thursday, April 29, while meeting Police the teams at the RNP General Headquarters in Kacyiru.

COVID-19: Police arrest 12 violators in house party

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Sunday, April 23, arrested 12 people in Kibagabaga Sector, Gasabo District where they were found gathered in a house drinking.

RULINDO: Duo arrested over currency counterfeit

Rwanda National Police (RNP) in collaboration with other security organs and local leaders, on Sunday, April 25, arrested two people in Buyoga Sector of Rulindo District in possession of counterfeit money amounting to Frw10, 000.

HUYE: 20 arrested for flouting COVID-19 prevention directives

Twenty people were arrested on Tuesday, April 27, in Mukura Sector of Huye District for flouting government directives meant to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The violators were arrested in operations conducted by Rwanda National Police (RNP) and local leaders.

GICUMBI: Two arrested over drug trafficking, attempted bribery

Police in Gicumbi District, on Monday, April 26, arrested two men suspected of trafficking narcotic drugs, and attempting to bribe an officer on duty. 

The suspects are identified as Hassan Nyandwi, 40, and Oscar Ibisamaza, 43.

Gicumbi District Police Commander (DPC), Superintendent of Police (SP) Jean Bosco Minani, said the duo had earlier escaped after they were intercepted trafficking a sack of khat commonly known as Mayirungi.  Readmore...

SOUTH SUDAN: Rwandan Police contingent start capacity building programme for local Police

The recently deployed Rwanda Formed Police Unit One (FPU-1) operating in Malakal, Upper Nile State under the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) started training the local Police in various policing disciplines as part of its new mandate.
