The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Emmanuel K. Gasana appealed to Police Officers in to protect the force's good image by serving the public to the required standard and in a professional manner.
The IGP made the call on Wednesday while meeting officers operating in the Southern Province and those from Ngororero, Rutsiro and Karongi districts in the Western region.
The meeting held in Muhanga District is part of the IGP's countrywide tour which started on Monday to evaluate the RNP activities in regions.
Professionalism, he said, is vital for the force to effectively and efficiently achieve its goals and mission.
He challenged them to conduct personal evaluation, get the zeal to acquire new skills and knowledge to serve the public better.
The Southern Regional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent, Kaijuka Sindayigaya pointed out to assault among the major crime committed in the
Chief Superintendent Vincent Sano, the Commissioner for Human Resource and Management called for proper management of Police properties.
