Local Police Patrol in Kirehe district, yesterday on 25th, arrested an 18-year-old man with 8Kg of marijuana.
Residents in the area rarely move late night. Police found the suspect carrying a bag full of marijuana late night walking alone the neighborhood.
He is currently detained at Kirehe Police Station. There is a tendency of students in holidays to engage in drug abuse. Superintendent (SUP) Innocent Kagorora, the Kirehe District Police Commander (DPC) said Police in the area has will not tolerate the crime. He said Police has mounted efforts to curb drug abuse.
The Community Policing Department has just concluded a country-wide campaign to senstise students against drug abuse and related crimes or misconduct.
