IGP asks officers to strive for professionalism

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Emmanuel K. Gasana has on this Sunday 2nd February met with Police Officers operating in Kigali and asked them to execute their policing duties in a professional manner to ensure that the public are served to the required standard.

During the meeting held at Police General Headquarters in Kacyiru, the Police chief said the Force has embarked on capacity building including training of the force to enable it execute its policing mandate both in and outside the country, effectively.

The officers are those working in Police Head Quarters, Central Region and Specialized Units.

His meeting with officers at the Police Headquarters is part of several tours he has been conducting in different Units across the country.

Other Force’s priorities, he said are; Force discipline, crime reduction, international cooperation, Police welfare, Community Policing, E-policing, Media in Policing, infrastructure development and intelligence led Policing.

IGP Gasana also delivered to the officers his Excellence Paul Kagame’s message to Defense Forces and the Rwanda National police where the head of state commended the two security organs for successfully achieving their achieving their core values of securing the nation.

“We have to go by the directives and guidance of His excellence,” IGP Gasana said urging the officers to embrace RNP’s core values to help the force further register more and more achievements.
