Assault is one of the cases that still exist in communities.
Most of such are caused by indifferences between family members, sometimes caused by internal wrangles resulting from property sharing like land.
Other causes of assault are caused by drug abuse especially excessive drinking by men and lack of respect to their spouses.
Other case of assault are due drug abuse.Drug abuse is said to be one of the causes of domestic violence and assault.
On Saturday in Nyarugenge District,Kimisagara Sector gabiro Cell, Safari Benoit 44yrs assaulted his wife due to the influence of excessive drinking causing serious injuries on the chest and on the head,the suspect was arrested and is currently held at Nyamirambo Police Station.
On the same day a man in Nyarugenge District , Nyarugenge Sector,Biryogo Cell Mutabazi Clement 48yrs his college after the two got into an argument , the suspect is held at Muhima Police Station.
Such cases are avoidable if all Rwandans stand up to denounce and report them .
Rwanda National Police put in place toll-free lines for the public to report any planned illegal or criminal act including assault and domestic violence. All these will lead to prevention rather than fighting.
This system has produced tremendous results though there is still need to strengthen the cooperation between security stakeholders especially the general population to report violence affected-families ,individual or groups involved in bad acts which will help in solving communities attaining sustainable security.
