RNP, Kigali City to award outstanding sectors

The Rwanda National Police (RNP), the City of Kigali and Rwanda Utility Regulatory Agency (RURA) will effective next week, start to evaluate the security and hygiene status exercise in all city sectors.

The exercise, which will see the best overall sector in each discipline awarded a vehicle, is part of the force’s initiative to involve the public in policing activities through the Community Policing concept and to enforce hygiene in the city.

On Tuesday, RNP held a meeting with the City of Kigali authorities, mayors of the districts of Gasabo, Kicukiro and Nyarugenge and executive secretaries of all sectors in the city, to devise ways on how the evaluation exercise will be conducted.

Those to be awarded include the overall hygienic, disciplined and law abiding motorcycle operator, who will be given a motorcycle.

The rewards will be provided by the RNP.

The meeting was chaired by the Inspector General of Police, Emmanuel K. Gasana and the Mayor of the City of Kigali, Fidele Ndayisaba,
