Remera vehicle inspection centre to suspend operations for upgrading

The Motor vehicle Inspection Centre (MIC) located in Remera, Gasabo District will suspend its services for four days to give way for the upgrading of the centre.

The centre’s services will be halted on January 17th, 18th, 24th and 25th.

Superintendent Jean Marie Vianney Ndushabandi, the Traffic and Road Safety Spokesperson said the changes are due to the rehabilitation activities to expand the centre.

The Rwanda National Police is currently renovating and expanding the parking lot.

Supt. Ndushabandi explained that the centre is facing the challenge of lack of enough parking yard to accommodate the big turn-up of vehicle daily, for inspection.

“We want to improve the services here to ensure customer satisfaction,” he stated.

Last year, he said, more than 70, 000 vehicles were inspected, up from over 50, 000 inspected in the previous year.

He appealed to owners of automobiles to bear with these changes, but added that the centre will resume its operations as usual after the said dates.
