Rwanda National Police to conduct anti-drugs abuse in schools

In a bid to further fight and prevent the consumption and trade of narcotics and illicit brew, the Rwanda National Police will yet again conduct an awareness exercise against the vice in schools in the City of Kigali.

The four-day exercise which will kick off on January 20 will be conducted in 24 schools.

Superintendent Irere Rene, the Director of Community Policing in Rwanda National Police said the awareness is intended to advise students on how to "live a better life by saying no to drug abuse," but also to bring them on board in the fight against this criminal act.

The youth are the most people involved in drug-related crimes.

Sup. Rene also appealed to the youth to embrace this exercise, always provide information on the people involved.

He further advised them to desist from drug abuse, which might hamper their education dream and to concentrate on studies.
