Help your neighbour displaced by rains

The rainy season is here. It is a planting period. However, in some places of the country, torrential rains coupled with strong winds, has destroyed property including houses and crops.

The government has been rallying families living in areas marked as high risk zones, to relocate to other designated places to protect them from such disasters.

It is so unfortunate that some of the families residing in these places demarcated as dangerous areas, have not responded to these repeated calls, despite government offering help in one way or another.

As a result, some of these families have been affected or displaced by heavy rains, which has also claimed lives of other scores.

We need to be dignified and patriotic Rwandans; citizens who are there for others, where necessary and possible.

Let us help our neighbours displaced by such disasters, give them shelter. We need to support each other in times of trouble.

To those still in these dangerous places, it is advisable that they relocate to safe areas to avoid such disasters.

As we further take the journey towards a better Rwanda, we need to move together without leaving others behind. We need to be there for each other and support our neighbours.
